WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Lee

I've reached a point where my voice no longer  automatically clocks me as female. I've become more comfortable hearing my own voice. I'm motivated to use my voice often and hopefully eventually always.

Beth, Parent

Thank you for the work you are doing with our daughter. She is really happy with your services and so are we! You have motivated her to find and use her voice in a way that hasn't happened before. We have been so impressed and pleased with everything you are doing for her and want others to benefit from your service!

Zela

I've noticed my pitch is higher all the time and now I have muscle memory of what it feels like to speak more femininely.Your therapy has helped me understand all the factors of what makes a voice feminine. You are so kind with your patience. I've been ma'amed more and my voice sounds better than before therapy. "

Meeting Your Professional Voice Goals

Speaking with intention, our voices can be a brilliant tool to facilitate meeting professional goals. We are experienced at helping change the following voice aspects to accelerate your professional goals:

  • Change perceived vocal age

    • shifting from either a childlike, bright resonance to an adult voice, or shifting from a youthful voice to a more mature, deeper and louder voice

  • Convey authority

    • Deepening/darkening the voice and using masculine speaking patterns

  • Match gendered speaking patterns to your workplace

    • Avoid conflict in a female-dominated field where coworkers respond positively to indirect language and a sweet voice

    • In a male-dominated field where a command voice keeps being assigned female at birth from being a barrier to upward mobility

  • Voice your sexuality

    • For people assigned male at birth- lowering pitch, darkening the voice, and changing speaking patterns so that listeners don't assume you're a gay man

  • Convey emotion- or not

    • Match your voice to your emotion to be assertive, or speak without sharing your emotional state, such as when you're angry or anxious. Avoid undesired speaking patterns when conveying emotions, such as moving to a higher pitch or running your words together.

  • Enjoy your accent

    • If the accent you acquired growing up doesn't fit you now, is holding you back, or is difficult to understand.
