Maximize your independence

How can therapy help me?

Cognitive-communicative deficits result in difficulty with thinking and how someone speaks and uses language.  Deficits may occur in social communication, reasoning, attention, memory, organization, planning, insight, awareness, voice, speech, or language.

Treatment works to address difficulties and provide strategies to support any areas impacted in your daily life. Our focus is on improving function and communication to improve quality of life and help clients return to the activities they love, preserve optimal participation in daily life, and provide support and resources for family and caregivers.

Learn independent living skills

We are passionate about improving our client's independence and decreasing the need for institutional living. We offer practical interventions that directly support independent living goals:

  • Written language skills for resume writing and email communication

  • Social-pragmatic language skills for  job interviews and professional communication

  • Reading skills for finding job ads and reading medication labels

  • Sequencing skills for managing money and scheduling an accessible bus ride

  • Thought organization and memory skills for remembering your grocery list and homework assignments

  • Voice and speech skills for ensuring your coworkers and family can hear and understand you
